Morning Star Youth Group

Morning Star Youth Group is a group of young women and men from Olympic, Kibera, who decided to come together and see how they could use the surrounding resources and materials like garbage and many others to utilise and make wealth from waste. In 2012 Kijani provided training to the group on recycled jewellery making, so that they could make jewellery and supply  local curio shops.

From the group: “Our aim is to lift the youths in the community and kick poverty away. As well as creating an income for youth through activities such as jewellery making we want to sensitise our community on environmental conservation. Kijani has supported us to be trained on making jewellery out of recycled waste such as animal bones, and old newspapers and magazines”.
